Janelle Yip

Janelle Yip is a professional skier from Calgary, Alberta known for her fearless approach to tricking natural features in the backcountry. She is the founder of the ski crew ‘The Blondes’ and her ultimate goal is to push the boundaries of female freestyle skiing in the backcountry and inspire others to do the same. When she’s not skiing, she’s an adrenaline-seeking outdoor enthusiast and a wildland firefighter. Janelle also enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, and hiking. She is a firm believer in being prepared and protected during her skiing adventures and follows a strict routine of having a coffee and a banana before skiing and a protein smoothie after. Janelle is a true daredevil with no pre-competition rituals, instead she focuses on having everything in her control for whatever might happen.
